It was great to see how members came together with the community as one, with all the support for each other. I had so much fun engaging with the members and the people of the community. —Shirley Cain

When I first volunteered to man the booth at the book fair, I thought it would be a very quiet and somewhat boring event. Little did I know that, not only would it be very entertaining, but also a great chance to talk to people with a seeking spirit for the Buddhist philosophy. —Virginia Wimberly

Attending the Southern Book Festival and speaking to people about Buddhism, really gave me the determination to “come out” and be the Buddhist that I am supposed to be: to be happy and welcoming new members. —Lola

My most memorable moment was having a district leader take the central coordinating position and she learned how to plan, organize and communicate with local leaders, members and others to make this a rewarding part of the peace movement history for Memphis. —Brenda Nightingale
